Celac: hopes and threats
opened last Tuesday, January 24, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, at a time when the main countries of the region are governed by political projects with a social, democratic and sovereignist sense.
The political climate is particularly conducive to strengthening Celac itself, a forum that was deliberately weakened in previous years and yet is of crucial importance for the development and integration of Latin America.
The main tasks of the representatives gathered in Buenos Aires are mainly to reactivate regional cooperation, organizations and integration processes, so that the subcontinent can have instruments to counterbalance the influence of the Organization of American States, which is clearly subordinated to U.S. directives.
